Hi,

auf einem Video eines NY Battalion Chief Cars ist ein DAtenfunk System Motorola MW 520 zu sehen. Über Google habe ich leider nicht herausfinden können, wie das Ding funktioniert und was damit alles gemacht werden kann. Hat jmd dazu vllt ein paar Infos? So wie ich das herausbekommen habe, funktioniert das System über ein Windows Table PC System. Die Amis verwenden ja zum Großteil für ihre BOS Trunked Radio. Also werden Daten dann somit per normaler Sprechfunk- Frequenz verschickt, oder wie darf ich mir das vorstellen? Wie gesagt, hätte ich eben gern ein paar Infos diesbezüglich. Auf den Seiten von Motorola werde ich auch irgendwie net fündig.

hier ein kurzer Auszug:

Program Narrative: The Motorola Corporation was contracted in December 2000 to build a new, state of the art, Comprehensive Radio Communications System (CRCS) The CRCS will also provide 55 mobile data computers for the Metro Transit Police Department that will have a dedicated 490 MHz RF data channel for wireless transmissions. The MDC is the Motorola MW520 and will feature Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), NCIC, and electronic field reporting. The CAD is being provided by AvelTech from Canada and will include GIS instant mapping and future interface to AVL. Our field reporting system is being developed by Motorola's SCA to meet our agency's reporting requirements (NIBRS and Federal Transportation Administration statistical data). Motorola is building the database repository using the Microsoft Access software. This data will be downloaded to the Records Management System's Oracle database for statistical editing and archiving. The expected transit police operational date is June 2003.

Die MW 520 sind aber sehr alt und wurden bereits fast alle durch neuere Systeme ersetzt.
